When you hit a reality wall

Last week I was on a coaching call with a colleague of mine, who pointed out some patterns she noticed I kept repeating in my business. Patterns that were keeping me stuck and not growing my business.

It was EYE OPENING because I never identified doing what she stated I was doing.

UGH.

After she brought it to my attention, I started to notice how it was showing up in other parts of my life as well.

Double UGH.

The first thing my brain wanted to do was deny it 🤥...

then run from it 🏃🏻‍♀️...

then try to feel better by thinking positively 🤩...

which made it all worse and didn’t allow for any awareness on my behalf.

As I processed through this new information with my coach, she reminded me of my human-ness. We are not perfect, we humans have human brains and imperfections, instead of trying to feel better because feeling uncomfortable feels so crappy, she offered me to consider these 3 things:

  1. To feel the negative emotion

  2. To acknowledge this is part of my humanity

  3. To give myself a giant dose of compassion.

This is what I'll be working on in my life and business and it's a great learning moment that I want to share with you. These three things - feeling the yucky feels, acknowledging you're a human and giving yourself some love without judgement -

is the key to growth.

It's interesting, the week before this happened I was on a consultation call with a prospect who told me she wanted to DYI it instead of invest in coaching. I mentioned to her the main reason why I continue to invest in coaching is because my coach can see my blind spots that I can't see.

If you can't see the things that keep you stuck - how can you grow?

After what I learned this week - I'm certain even as a coach - having the support of a coach is worth every single penny.

Always sharing what I'm learning,

Patricia

"I just want to take a minute to say a big thank you! Your coaching truly helped me step into knowing I’m a life coach at every level of my life. Once you pointed out all the ways I was able to see a new angle and own it! Thank you for helping me see a different way to approach this new exciting identity. Thank you!!!" Michelle A.

Wondering how coaching can impact your life? It starts with a call.
