Grateful for Everything

Did you know that November is National Gratitude Month in the U.S and Canada? Neither did I!

BRILLIANT.IDEA.

Yea Yea, I know we should be grateful everyday, not just the month of November. In theory that’s true, but how many times do you let the chaos of the day get in your head and then not appreciate anything you have? How many times have you convinced yourself that yo

u don’t have enough? How many times have you let a negative situation ruin all the good that you have in your life? I have for sure to all of these and more.

So at the beginning of 2016, I committed to writing down 10 things that I’m grateful for EVERY SINGLE DAY. I write them in a special journal that is just for that purpose. I have to tell you, that it’s made all the difference in the world on my outlook, my confidence, my happiness. Through my husband losing his job to 2 of my sons leaving for college to our family now uprooting and moving – MY GRATITUDE JOURNAL SAVED ME – for real.

By acknowledging all the things I have big and small, I’ve shifted from a place of always feeling like I didn’t have enough to knowing I have more than I need – regardless of the situation at hand. Being grateful for simple things like the water that comes out of my faucet or the sun that comes out everyday (even behind the clouds), brings so much awareness to everything I have that the list becomes endless. The best part is after writing down my 10 things, I start the day with a lightness and appreciation that was not there before journaling.

Not surprising according to one of my fav’s Jack Canfield. In his book The Success Principles (oldie but goodie) he states:

“Being in a state of appreciation and gratitude it is one of the highest vibrational (emotional) states possible. When you are in a state of appreciation and gratitude, you are in a state of abundance. You are appreciating what you do have instead of focusing on and complaining about what you don’t have. Your focus is on what you have received, and you will always get more of what you focus on. Because like attracts like, you’ll get more and then have more to be thankful for. It becomes an upward spiral that just keeps getting better and better. “

Who doesn’t want that in their lives?

Join me this month in a little gratitude challenge. I’ll be posting something I’m grateful for each day on my
