2015 - 2106: Reflections & Intentions
I was in a yoga class over the weekend, being led by a fellow yoga instructor and friend – Lauren. She asked us to reflect on where we were exactly 1 year ago. What has changed? What has remained the same? And what is one thing we could let go for 2017?
WHAT A GREAT INTENTION.
It got me thinking about this year in it’s entirety. For me…
What has changed?
One year ago, I literally had no idea where we would be as Bill’s job search kept us in a zone of complete uncertainty. Gratefully, he landed a job in August that will take us to Birmingham Michigan.
One year ago, I didn’t have the patience to practice meditation not even for a couple minutes. Excited to say, today I’m up to 10 minutes a day.
One year ago, I never imagined I would have ventured into more yoga training. This week, I completed another 200 hour yoga teacher certification program.
What has stayed the same?
My steadfast belief that personal transformation happens through daily practices.
My commitment to lead by example, not just say the fluffy stuff and never follow through. Try it out, if it feels good and in alignment with my values keep going – if it feels shitty, dump it.
My passion for sparking positivity and possibility into everyone I meet with genuine authenticity and an open heart.
What’s one thing I could let go?
Anxiety when I start “should-ing” on myself. For those of you that don’t know what that means, it’s when you’re constantly telling yourself –
“I should do this”
“I should have done that”
Shoulds are always driven by someone else’s expectations of what we “should” do.
How about you?
What has changed in your life from December 2015 to December 2016?
What has stayed the same?
What is one thing you can let go for 2017?
Love to hear how you answered these. Feel free to shoot me an email, comment on the blog or send me a text.
Funny how we don’t take the time to ask ourselves these very simple questions that can make the difference in how we think, how we feel and what we end up doing.
Starts with the awareness of what was, what is and what will be.
Speaking of being intentional – have you checked out my DECEMBER PEACE CHALLENGE? Everyday I’m posting a quote about simple truths that create peace inside of us. Remember, it doesn’t matter what is happening outside of ourselves, we always have the power to create peace within. Get some ideas here:
If you’re local and you missed my recent talk at LUXXE Organix – stay tuned! I’m rolling out more live events in 2017 that you won’t want to miss!!
