Stop hiding behind excuses.

Every week I have conversations with people who share their deepest desires and then tell me all the reasons why they can't go after what they really want...
"I don't know how to do xyz..."
"I've already tried that and it didn't work..."
"That's not how I traditionally do things..."
They call them reasons. I call them excuses.
When we hide behind excuses it's really just our primitive brain reacting to fear. Fear of something that feels uncomfortable.
This is especially true when we are trying to go after something we've never done before.
One of the most powerful things you can arm yourself with is a clear reason WHY you want what you want.
Here's 3 questions to answer yourself when defining your WHY:
1) What's your intention for wanting it?
2) Why is it important?
3) What happens if you do nothing?
Having a strong why will help you calm your amygdala (most ancient part of your brain) out of the fight, flight, freeze patterns it's been conditioned to. Simon Sinek has a wonderful TED talk on the power of why, one of the most viewed TED talks - you can view it here.
