STOP Telling Yourself This..

I DON'T KNOW.

Three of the most debilitating words you can say to yourself.

I remember this being a bad habit for me. I found myself saying these exact three words....over....and over.

The end result from repeating this bad mantra was that I got further and further away from finding a solution.

Here's how it sounded in my brain:

"I don't know how to do this."

"I've never done this before."

"I can't do this"

Repeating these defeating sentences, I became so frustrated that I began to distract myself with stupid things like hitting the refrigerator for something to eat - when I clearly wasn't hungry, and wasting time on Facebook. This only led me to being further away from what I was trying to figure out...🤦🏻‍♀️.

And the cycle continued for a very long time.

This is a testament to whatever we believe we create in our lives.  In this case, I created confusion with my thoughts and it's exactly what I got. And the real truth was that it was easier to sit in the IDK vs taking massive action toward my goals.

I finally decided to get a hold of myself and made a decision to NOT be confused. Each time I noticed my brain saying -

I DON'T KNOW

I shifted it to say

I'LL FIGURE IT OUT.

When I told myself I'd figure it out I got hopeful that I could. Feeling hopeful, I began to do the things I needed to do.

I think you can guess what happened from here....

I figured it out 💁🏻‍♀️.

Do you suffer from I don't know syndrome?

Next time you hear yourself saying those 3 words - I'd like to offer you to challenge your thought with telling yourself -

"I'll figure it out."

And see what happens.

I guarantee you might not get the answer you want initially, but you'll be much further along than sitting in I DON'T KNOW and doing nothing.

xoxo,

Patricia
