A year and a half ago I created a vision board.
I had it in my bathroom to see in the morning while getting ready. I moved it to my office to glance at while working. When our house went on the market, I packed it away and didn't see it for a long time.
Fast forward to last week when I pulled it out of one of the last unpacked boxes.
Can I just tell you how blown away I was when I saw it?
The picture on the left was part of my vision board.
The picture on the right is my new backyard. đ€
YOU GUYS - This is NOT freaky woo woo stuff đđ»ââïž...itâs the power of intention.
My brain was exploding đ€ŻÂ when I saw this!
Even though I hadn't seen the board in a while, the seed of intention was planted in my mind a year and a half ago.
I have to tell you, I've made a few vision boards over the years, but this one was different. This one had things I wanted to have in my life but it also captured how wanted to feel.
You can obviously see I have an affinity for the water. Water is so calming to me. I love how it feels on my body as I'm soaking in it. I love hearing the sound of it. I love the color of it and watching it move. When I look at that part of the board -
it makes me feel relaxed and calm.
Here are some other things I put on my board:
* Quotes that inspire me
* Numbers representing my financial goals
* Colors that light me up
* My values handwritten out with pictures supporting them
* Goals bullet pointed
* An open space on the board to keep adding to
Visualization is nothing new. Athletic coaches have been using visualization exercises to motivate their students for a long time. There's all kinds of articles supporting the neuroscience behind what your brain is doing when you visualize - pretty cool stuff!
Vision boards are a blueprint for what you want in your life, how you want to feel and who you want to be. Think about it - you would never build a house without deciding what you want it to look like first - right? This is your life - design it!
All you need is a poster board, magazines and some uninterrupted time to let your creative juices flow.
Silence your phone, turn on some music, light a candle and start creating!
Remember there are no rules to how it "should" look. You can get some ideas or even create a digital one on Pinterest.
I'd love to see what you come up with, shoot me a pic and send it over!
Have an amazing week visualizing what's next -
Patricia
