This week I'm sharing part two of my series called COURAGE & CONFIDENCE. I'm talking about it here on the blog and vlogging about it here.
Courage:
The ability to do something that frightens one.
Confidence:
The state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
Full trust.
When was the last time your were scared to do something, but you did it anyways and then kept challenging yourself to do it?
This courageous act of doing that thing you feared over and over is the stage that confidence is created on. Taking action while being scared and uncomfortable. The more you do this the more comfortable it gets until you are left standing in certainty - knowing that you know what you know. This is confidence!
Below are three strategies and a bonus to help you continue to build your confidence muscle.
1) REMIND YOURSELF OF YOUR PAST COURAGEOUS ACTS - Scout your memory of all your past acts of courage. Our brain is always looking for evidence to prove what it's thinking has merit and is true. Create a list of times - even if it was only once to show your brain you have had moments that you pushed through and persevered.
2) ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES and LOVE THEM JUST THE SAME.
What are your strengths, what do you do so well you could do them blindfold? If you can't name any, solicit your family and friends for what they think your strengths are. Sometimes we are in our blind spot and can't think of our own strengths. Likewise, what are your weaknesses? Many times it's easier for us to pick out our weaknesses. Acknowledge and love them both. There are no perfect humans.
3) PRACTICE EXCELLENT SELF CARE w/ SELF COMPASSION.
One of the quickest ways to confidence is practicing top level self care. When you are loving and kind to yourself, you can notice your inner mean voice and lovingly tell it to go sit in the corner, you've got it covered. Your kindness inward is another way to have your own back, which build your belief in you.
BONUS STRATEGY:
PRACTICE POWER POSTURES.
Start to take notice of your posture, are your shoulders concaved, is your back slumped over, your chin down and your gaze at the ground? For an ultimate power posture that instantly boosts confidence, roll your shoulders back, lengthen your spine from the crown of your head to your tail bone - imagine an invisible string is pulling you up to the sky. When you do this it will naturally lift your chin up and send your gaze out in front of you. Not only will this spike your confidence in the moment, you will feel more open to receive whatever the universe has in store for you. đ
âConfidence a powerful by-product of courage.â
I hope you enjoyed this mini series of courage and confidence and use these strategies to grow into the next level of you personally and professionally.
Reach out if you'd like to take this work deeper.

Patricia
