Recently I had the opportunity to join an exclusive online group of women entrepreneurs. I waffled back and forth...should I, shouldn't I? It's was a big investment and I was already financially committed to support in other areas. After weeks of sleepless nights and energy robbed days - I decided to hold off. The amount of energy I was using to waffle back and forth was just insane. Once I made that decision it was as if I had just added another week to my month.
This lesson got me thinking about how often I do that - waffle - and what a energy drain it is.
When was the last time you had a decision to make?
How long did it take you to make it?
How many times did you wake up in the middle of the night tossing and turning thinking about it?
What if instead of sitting in undecided zone, you put a time limit on it by giving yourself 24 - 48 hours to make the decision?
Since that incident, this is the strategy I've been employing. And it's really helping me stay focused without the distraction of the decision taking up so much space in my head.
Here's the mindset that makes it easier to make the decision-
I tell myself that whatever decision I make - is not a permanent decision for life. It's only a permanent decision for NOW. It can always change going forward. And that my friends feels like winning the energy lotto!
Here's to a week of quicker decisions and new found energy,
